Number the pages without opening an editor.
Choose a corner, a starting number and a format. The numbers are written as real text, so they stay selectable and searchable in the output.
Numbers are added to every page. The original file is left exactly as it was and a numbered copy is downloaded.
- Numbers are drawn in Helvetica, which covers digits and the words “Page” and “of” — the format is fixed for that reason
- Pages that are rotated by a scanner get their numbers turned with them, so they read upright on screen
